Beyond The Standard Model, Vol. I

I love the unpredictability of improvised music. Songs from the extremely rich jazz legacy have always been a part of this band and while we were on tour in Europe, in October 2014, I brought the band into a studio for one day to record some of our favorite songs from the jazz tradition. To me, there is something eternally enchanting about playing songs from the great jazz songwriters and composers. Beyond The Standard Model is about exploring the ideas we all draw from the incredible history of this music. Volume 1 represents a "live" studio approach - a jam session we recorded to pay homage to some of our favorite artists.
